ANTHOPHILA

Branding and Visual Identity for Håkon Øverås' honey

In this project, we were tasked with each of us developing our own individual honey concept for Håkon Øverås, a local honey producer. The goal was to create a distinct product identity while working strategically with branding, storytelling, and visual design.

My concept, ANTHOPHILA, was positioned as an exclusive, refined honey product. The name derives from the biological term for bees (Anthophila), creating a direct and scientific connection to the origin of the product. I wanted the brand to communicate rarity, purity, and craftsmanship — elevating honey from an everyday grocery item to a premium, almost collectible product.

The process included:

  • Developing a clear brand strategy and positioning

  • Defining target audience and market differentiation

  • Creating visual identity elements (logo, typography, color palette)

  • Designing packaging that reinforces exclusivity and quality

  • Building a cohesive narrative around the product

The visual identity focused on minimalism and precision, using clean layouts and refined details to signal exclusivity. Material choices, labeling, and typography were carefully considered to create a sense of sophistication and authenticity.

Through this project, I gained deeper insight into how branding can transform perception — how design, naming, and storytelling can shape the way we understand and value a product.
