Accessibility Figma File — Introduction to WCAG & POUR

As a class of 20 students, we collaborated to design a comprehensive Figma file introducing first-year students at AHO (The Oslo School of Architecture and Design) to accessibility principles in digital design.

The goal of the project was to make accessibility approachable, practical, and easy to understand — especially for students just starting their design education.

We focused on:

  • Explaining the core principles of WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines)

  • Breaking down the POUR framework (Perceivable, Operable, Understandable, Robust)

  • Creating clear visual examples of accessible vs. inaccessible design

  • Structuring the content in a way that supports learning and engagement

Working in a large group required strong coordination, shared design systems, and consistent visual language. We had to align on layout standards, typography, color contrast, and interaction patterns — while ensuring the file itself followed accessibility best practices.

This project strengthened my understanding of inclusive design and reinforced the importance of accessibility as a fundamental part of the design process — not an afterthought.
